FA Series Journal Bearing Tricone Bit

Cutting Structure
 The wear-resistance of the teeth is enhanced with premium tungsten carbide hard-facing on the tooth surfaces for the steel tooth bit.The durability of premium tungsten carbide inserts is improved with new formulas and new techniques for insert bit.

Gauge Structure
Multiple gauge protection with gauge trimmers on the heel of cone,tungsten  carbides inserts and hard-facing on the shirttail increases gauge holding capability and bearing life.

Bearing Structure
High precision journal bearing with two thrust faces.Balls lock the cone.Hard-faced head bearing surface.Cone bearing inlaid with friction-reducing alloy and then silver plated.Abrasion resistance and seizure resistance of the bearing are improved.

Seal and Lubrication
Premium HNBR O-ring,optimal seal compression and curved seal structure can enhance the seal performance.The pressure compensator system and advanced grease can greatly increase the lubrication reliability.

Seal and Lubrication
The advanced metal seal package consists of two metal seals and two elastic energizers. Compressed energizers ensure good contact being kept on two sealing surfaces of metal rings by elastic force, and achieves the bearing seal. In the drilling, metal seals are relatively dynamic, and the energizers are static. This will improve the reliability and durability of bearing seal. The pressure compensator system and advanced grease can greatly increase the lubricating reliability.

One:Usage of tricone bit
  1. The proper bit box should choose, according to the recommended prepaid moment of connected thread put into make up torque, install the bit on the drill pipe or drill tools. Be careful not to damage the bit or nozzle.
  2. Regular the meter before tripping in the hold. No obstacle in the well.
  3. The operation should stable, control the speed, to avoid bit touch the well wall.
  4. When the bit is nearly close to the well bottom, slow down the tripping speed, not to stop suddenly, to avoid bit touch the well wall on the effect of inertia.
  5. When the bit is nearly close to the well bottom, recycle the mud adequately, and begin the rotate and down.
  6. When the bit reach the well bottom, small WOB with low rotate speed for more than 30 minutes. Fitting the bit bearing and the well bottom at the same time.
  7. According to the characteristics of earth lithology, select WOB and speed according to "operation parameter table". During operation, the WOB and speed of bit should not exceed the nominal range.
  8. During operation, the applied WOB should be even, not to apply WOB discontinuously. If need to stop, the bit should be stop after the pointer has return back.
  9. There is rubber piece and lubricating grease in tricone bit, so it can not be stored in the open air, and be damp proof, the temperature should be 00C--400C. No welding, heating and other processing is permitted on bit.


Two: Tricone bit transportation
As the small volume of tricone bit and heavy weight, safety should be noticed during transportation. The package is carton box or wood box, waterproof and damp proof should be noticed during transportation.

Three: Type selection of tricone bit
  1. Appropriate bit should be chosen by the drilling rock formation and reference on the conjoint well.
  2. Refer to the " Comparison list between FL tricone bit and IADC classification" choose the appropriate type for tricone bit.

Four: Tripping out of the hole
  In the normal situation, base on the experience or service time and wearing of the last bit, reference on the conjoint well, and the character of earth formation and bit, to choose the drill draw bake time.
  In case of not excluded or abnormal that can result in accident, the bit should be brawn back in time.

Five: Analyze and treatment of trouble
  During the operation in well, the variation of all kinds of drilling parameters should observe in time, analyze synthetically the reason. To estimate the operating condition in the well, and avoid accident.
